That's eerily, consistently accurate.

This tin, it is clearly labeled.

Also, I wish my life were bold enough to contain fashion like what Swinton wears.

Tilda Swinton as Libraries

Possible alternative title: Libraries as Tilda Swinton

"Now, Mr. Wattersbly, your architectural credentials are unparalleled-- and I don't want for a moment to seem ungrateful for the time and energy you have put into your proposal!-- but myself and the other trustees have been looking over your design for the new university library and we keep coming back to the same question-- which Tilda?"
"Which Til--"
"Yes, Mr. Wattersbly, which Tilda Swinton. We've been asking ourselves again and again: which Tilda Swinton does your proposed design for our new library most resemble? And it's the damnedest thing, but we keep arriving at the same answer; which is to say, none. Your library resembles no Tilda Swinton."
"But don't you see, it's a post-brutalist answer to the Bauhaus question of--"
"Thank you very very much, Mr. Wattersbly, but please. Come back to us when you have a Tilda."

This is delightful, thank you. One of the main libraries I go to in DC is on the thread and I just sent it to a bunch of friends.

We are forever grateful that Tilda has never appeared as UofT's blighted Robarts library.

I would very much like to see Tilda as a horrible goose. (No, too fluffy. Maybe the crane in the same shot?)

Tilda is more library branch, Bowie is more nudibranch.

Tilda Swinton as a Little Free Library

Most of these are really pretty good, but this one killed me.

Wow. I bet we'd get halfway into the movie before realizing it was Tilda Swinton and not an actual library playing itself.

I love it SO MUCH that a bunch of libraries are finding their own Tildas to post in the thread. This is my happy place today.

So which building is Mason, I wonder? I think I'd nominate the Seattle Public Library, as both are covered in track marks.

I will never not believe Tilda Swinton is an android. As such, she could never be a library. Nice try, though.

The library where I work is in the original set so this has been floating around my Twitter timeline for most of this week. Swinton's aesthetic and the library's exterior are a very good match.

(The library-which-replaced the library that I voted in last March is also featured. I have an extremely cranky story about voting in March 2020 in an abandoned and cleared out library where, due to some highly problematic choices and a total technology fail, there was a line of voters that lasted until 2am. Polls closed at 7pm and you had to be in line at that time to vote. Imagine waiting ~8 hours to vote. Never again tell me that poor people, people of color, disenfranchised people don't want to vote. That is some bullshit and now I have the experience and the stories - of the fast food worker still in uniform, of the elderly woman who didn't have her cane but stood up for hours anyway, of the dangerously, heavily pregnant woman who everyone let go to the front of the line - to prove it. Ahem. This is a post about libraries, not other neglected areas of civic society, but I do get angry every time I think about voting in that hot, waterless, foodless, stifling building chock of COVID infection. Tilda Swinton would surely agree)
