The badger and coyote buddy movie we always wanted. The duo went through a culvert near Gilroy California and were caught on video as part of Peninsula Open Space Trust's project to better understand how wildlife interact with the major roadways that surround the southern end of the Santa Cruz Mountains.

Via the 12-second twitter version "coyotes and badgers are known to hunt cooperatively"

I assume that pipe the badger is playing in is a circle painted on a wall to fool the coyote. That's the way this gag works isn't it?

Yes, but also there's a train in the pipe .....

Traditionally though it's Coyote who's the trickster, so it's Mr Badger who's about to get the surprise .... oh, and road runners can fly

There is daytime footage of a coyote using that tunnel. And night time footage of bobcats! skunks! raccoons!

I have to admit that coyotes don't normally give me a rush of oxytocin, my interests being more aligned with those of the small domestic pets they view as potential dinner. But that was fucking adorable.

Love the second coyote giving us a self-portait before heading into the tunnel after the first coyote
