Cute, but they don't specify if the "days" are divided according to revolutionary decimal time.

Ah, revolutionary decimal time, the Swatch Internet Time of its day.

Yesterday was, in the revolutionary calendar, tridi 3 NivĂ´se in the year of the Republic CCXXX - a day set aside for the celebration of bitumen.
The French revolutionaries may have gone a little far for some tastes, but their respect for highly viscous, sticky petroleum byproducts was unsurpassed.

This is lovely! But I'm not sure that's going to be enough guillotines.

Seven sans culotte-ing

What is going on? How does one sans-culotte? Who is doing it? Seven of the six dismayed priests? Someone named Seven?

I believe the writers are mildly referencing the Thermidorian Reaction and the days prior.

sans culotte-ing refers to those clockwork orange like folk. They were being killed by summer of 1794.
FIVE JAC-O-BINS...they too were dying by thermidor with the Incorruptible' meeting his end in those six days but most likely a rhyme mash-up.

It's not funny enough to outweigh the subject matter.

I say that as someone with a taste for black humor.

that the extreme left wing became the authoritarian wing flailing its murderous way towards Napoleon, fucking pricless comedy gold.
