Many Reflections On The New Year!

It's Just Another New Year's Eve (Barry Manilow), Happy New Year (ABBA), My Dear Acquaintance (A Happy New Year) (Regina Spektor), New Year's Eve In A Haunted House (Raymond Scott), What're You Doing New Year's Eve (Harry Connick, Jr.), Toast To The New Year (Carbon Leaf), The Closing Of The Year (Wendy & Lisa)
Favorited just for song from the end of "Toys".
It's only 9pm on the west coast but I'm just drunk enough to get maudlin and listen to poignant songs - especially Michael Brecker's soulful solo in the last minute of Dan Fogelberg's "Same Old Lang Syne". Lord deliver us from sentimental old fools...

Same Auld Lang Syne is s "Snow was falling Christmas Eve" song... but it is certainly a New Year's meeting/reconciliation/whatever narrative, even if it is a week off. #FolgerbergFan

The last minute of it sorta fits, at least! :D

Maybe it's a song about an entirely lost weekend week with an old flame, starting on Xmas Eve and ending a week later, and we're only given the first person memory of the events.

Ella’s classic version of What’re You Doin’ New Year’s Eve. From arguably my fave Christmas album!

This is an off-kilter version of Auld Lang Syne which takes a chaotic turn. It's my favorite New Year's song -- check it out if you want to:
Tim Eriksen - Song Of The Old Folks
Tim Eriksen used to be in a folk-punk band called Cordelia's Dad, and since then has turned out messy albums from a kind of alternate-universe Western Massachusetts history.
