Make music with emoji and meme sounds. The name itself references a specific meme, but what people have done with it already transcends that.

Upon further reflection this would make me feel sheepish if my haircut cost more than $30, less than $30, or equal to $30.

My first thought was "my barber visits cost $35, fuck you"

But I got over that quickly because I only go every 6 weeks and it's the only pampering I get at all and I look great so it's worth it.

Also, those music videos are amazing and make me want to fuck around with this, but I'm afraid I'd hyperfocus and reappear sometime in March.

I took my dog to the dog salon for a minor trim today and it cost fifty five dollars. I guess he has the right to lecture me now.

I don't entirely understand a lot of the references, but this is fun.

I kind of wish they had a more obvious way to see other people's stuff, rather than uploading a plaintext file with an emoji extension. But, the abstraction between visual symbol and sound is really interesting and the interface is quite well designed. I appreciate that values less than 1 are allowed in most places. Neat! After 2 minutes of dicking around without knowing anything about how it works, I'm rather pleased with my first silly attempt. I'm tempted to try to layer additional tracks, but I probably ought to spend the time getting better at instruments I actually care about.

Also, the $30 haircut thing seems perfectly chosen as an ambiguous number, since that's an entirely reasonable price for a haircut, at least around here. If it were $200 or $8, I'd know exactly what it means. But, $30 could be read in many different ways.

Reading the history of the meme gives you context and narrows the ways in which it can be read, which I think is similar to what you'd think of a $200 haircut.
