Um, I was kind of hoping for this Second Time Around (Shalamar w/ ex-Soul Train-dancer-future-solo-star Jody Watley)

Not the lyric I had in mind: It was all about the sentiment thereof.

These all make me so happy! This is a fantastic collection - thanks for putting it together.

Pretty sure this will be the soundtrack for my coming week.

2nded on the Youtube Premier thing -- they finally got me since I watch several hours of yt a day after work and the ads are just so bad . . .

The Three Degrees have a connection to Soul Train of course, and seeing this clip in one of those 'here's 100 hits of the 1970s' compilations took me back to 1974 instantly.

Three amply bewigged lovely young women in sexy sequined gowns sitting on revolving bar stools and singing in the center of a roofed amphitheater is certainly a novel concept for a dance pop video.

These all make me so happy!

I am wistful and nostalgic. It is not like the 70s was a golden age, but the future everyone saw coming seemed so much brighter.

Most of these songs were part of the soundtrack of my adolescence. The only thing missing is Gladys Knight.

Thanks y2karl!

Y2Karl, you have compiled so many of my favourite FPPs but this one surpasses the lot.

That Al Green debut on Soul Train... the expression of disbelief on the faces of the couple behind him during the fade out, as they stare and stare at his hotpants...

It was an interesting event in music history.
