AIM screen name 'satan' going for $15k in an apparent bidding war that abandoned all sense of reality. Still three days left, let's see if they can break $50k? The dark lord could not be reached for comment, though jesusrox232 called it "ridiculous."

I hope the seller is smart enough not to accept a buyer with a feeback rating of 1 or less.

In fact, I'm thinking there might be some shilling going on.

"Bids of US $15,000.00 or more require user verification with a credit card or alternative verification prior to placing a bid."

That must be why it's stuck at $14,999.00. I doubt those bids are real.

Hah, on second look the seller has a feedback rating of zero because the one rating they have isn't positive.

I smell a rat.

Well, you know what they say - Satan never closes a door without opening a window. I guess in this case it's an AIM window.

Satan never closes a door without opening a window.

I thought that was "Satan never closes his bathroom door without opening a window."

What's a measly $15K to Satan? It's obviously the Dark Lord himself who's buying the name. (Expect the seller to die or contract an excruciating disease shortly after the sale.)

Far better deal is the Satan N God name now available. Only $1. Act now!

Why is "realsatan" bidding on regular "satan"?

having 'real' in your name isn't authentic enough. I'm suprised nobody is auctioning off ebay usernames.

I thought that was Matt.

Anybody wanna buy a totally cool Microsoft Messenger screen name? Do I hear 1 dollar? Thirty cents?

This seems real, however...

I can see why Satan would be asking for money: anyone willing to fork over 15+ for a AIM name clearly has no soul with which to bargain.

Will the real Satan please stand up?

Combine that with $200+ for an 8-track tape and you have the imminent apocalypse.

It looks like the market for low ICQ numbers has dropped out, in the wake of AIM's increasing market share. But this guy still managed to get $61 for a 6-digit number.

I was at a party where the guests were labeling their cups. A friend of mine had put this name on his cup. Had intended to anyway, he deflated somewhat when I pointed out that satan isn't spelt S-A-T-I-N.

ooh... missed your comment tracy. You could give one to me instead? I've got a 7 digit ICQ # and would like a lower one to lord over my friends. :)

(i won't respond to any other requests tho', so don't anyone else bother asking)

Same here, only for me it's more of a financial reason. I'm currently scanning a few of my weirder items ('50s autographed Fabian playbill, WWII Japanese ammo crate), and then I'll work my way through a few thousand LPs, 78s and other flotsam.

i'd like to see your LP auctions when they're up and running HTuttle so feel free to icq me your ebay user id.

There's nothing more pathetic than trying to flame-bait the fundies with your username.

That one took me a second, Nicolae. Ask me later, though, and I won't admit to getting the joke. In fact, I take it back. I have no idea what you're talking about.
