(I'll get my coat)
Seriously, I do love the Sesame Street guest interactions.

I love how this isn't quite perverse and yet has that kind of subtext for the adults.

I cracked up at:

“Okay, then, let’s see your footwork.”

How I thought it would go:

Roy: "So I'm baking these biscuits..."
Tamir: "They're called cookies, Roy."
Roy: "What stupid idiot calls a biscuit a cookie?"
Tamir: *nervously* "Well today's word begins with the letter f"
Roy: "Oooooh I do love the letter F."
Tamir: "The word is.... brrrrrrrrrr"
Roy: "Just say the fucking f word you stupid puppet twat.
Tamir: "But Roy... After this I thought we were going to play soccer!"
Roy: "It's called football you fucking yankee puppet wanker. Who's arm do you have up your arse because I'm going to break it."

Seriously though. Making Brett Goldstein call it soccer? That man has a patience of a fucking saint.

Was expecting something more in line with Censored Count. Is this funny because of the non sesame street roles of the guest?

Mitheral: VERY MUCH SO. This guy is well known for playing a super grumpy pants dude who's constantly swearing--and yet is somehow a friend to all children who aren't at all fazed by his behavior.

I expected the scowl at the kid outside the ticket window here.

Brett Goldstein on why he loves the muppets -
“Well, it’s like… The secret of the Muppets is they’re not very good at what they do. Like Kermit’s not a great host, Fozzie is not a good comedian, Miss Piggy is not a great… None of them are actually good at it, but they fucking love it…
And they’re like a family and they like putting on a show and they have joy and because of the joy, it doesn’t matter that they’re not good at it."

Sounds like a metafilter tagline to me! (edited to add the full quote)

The Muppets certainly sounds like my theater career....

I adore Brett Goldstein. I love the Muppets. I love Sesame Street.
I love being pandered to as much as anyone, but this is terrible. SS used to be genuinely funny, and what kid wants to learn from preachy earnest statements about right and wrong?
This is how you show fairness and sharing. Or this. Or this.
Feh.
