Sadly, most of these are just landing pages for squatters, .horse domains are too stupid not be used more. Naturally I had to have one. Sadly all the really good horse jokes were taken by the time I went to register sheep.horse.

In my defense, I only got one so I could set up an email forward and have something ridiculous to tell the cashier at stores when they insisted I provide an email address to receive discounts.
The annual cost of the domain is more than worth it to see the look on their face when you slowly, very clearly say "toothpaste... at burrito... dot horse."

I have actually generated a few others but not published them as sites - .africa, .nexus, and .boats for example. It would be somewhat trivial to set them up now but, well, why? This is about horses.
For that matter, which new gtld has the fewest active domains (3000ish doesn't seem like a lot but I suspect .horse isn't nearly the least popular gtld)?
This project actually somewhat started as an attempt to buy a .nexus domain (http://torment.nexus, specifically). In my looking into doing so, I discovered that there are in fact zero .nexus domains. So I guess that's one gtld with zero. I couldn't say off the top of my head how the others were doing but it's seemingly very possible to find out.

I appreciate that the .horse NIC rules are pretty low key. Anyone can register a domain name, you don't need to be a horse. Namecheap wants $26/year for a random name. No easy way to see prices for "premium" words.
Nice work secretdark! Is this a list of all registered .horse domains, or just the ones that have a DNS entry set up? (It's possible that's the same list, but it doesn't need to be.)

That's... an interesting question. It's every domain in the zone file but I just assumed that was every domain regardless of whether there were any actual DNS records. Truthfully the parsing script just de-dupes everything and strips out the noise. I'll have to actually check the zone file out in more detail and up my understanding.
