That was fun! I wonder what it would be like to hear it without any knowledge of the original.

Now they have to do one of their songs re-arranged to sound like REM.

I resisted it hard for the first 30 seconds, then gave into the joy and had fun with it.

This is actually one of my least favorite REM songs and I love this reinterpretation.

This is extremely clever and extremely well done and I hate it

I've always HATED that song. This is such a better version!

I saw !!! in concert ~2007 and they were a lot of fun. I hadn't though of them in a long time, but I am impressed they have apparently a good career out of indie dance funk.

yeah they've kept going all these years. real talk tho what ever happened to out hud?

That was fun, I've got a song or two of theirs in some playlists somewhere, but the band name is almost search-resistant.

Anyone else get Beck vibes? Cool post, thanks!

Is this the right thread for this? Sure, why not. Corky and the Juice Pigs, "REMember" from MadTV.

Hmm! I had the opposite reaction of many of you. It feels like they took a very weird, very lovely song (how did R.E.M. ever become a world-famous band?) and made it a whole lot less weird and lovely. Now it sounds like something I'd hear on the radio and wouldn't wonder in the least about.

I agree with this. The verses are fine, if a bit radio-generic. The chorus is terrible.

!!! were one of the funnest concerts I've ever attended. I absolutely cannot dance, but for that band that night, I sure tried.

Their debut single is as far in the past as "Night Fever" by the Bee Gees was the year it came out.

It's the end of my patience was we know it, and I don't feel fine.

I'm quite okay with the original, but thanks for sharing

I've always felt like !!! needs to be experienced live, and most def. loud

Really could use a funk medley of obscure classic REM ... "Old Man Kensey wants to be a booty shaker, but first he's gotta learn to jam ... "

That was worth my time.

Agreed! Start with Must Be the Moon

Side note: the top comment is from his dad and is extremely endearing

Yeah, greatly improved.

I adore REM to this day, but Automatic for the People spawned two singles that I actively dislike: Everybody Hurts and this song.

It must be noted that Stipe has written at least two songs that reference Elvis impersonators. Can you guess the other one ... ?

ducky l'orange, I whole-heartedly concur.
