The author of Thousand Year Old Vampire made something even weirder than that

"Wow! What the fuck! If we’re playing this at a table in person, we are faking being on the radio. Playing it in person is the fakiest way to play it. Damnnn."

I am simply doing that thing where Moe Howard from The Three Stooges falls on his side and he’s running in a circle on the ground and pivoting on his shoulder.

Let the record reflect that was a distinctly Curly move.

I misread that link as "Tim Hunkin". That was weird.

I literally bought the hard copy just to fanboi over the NASA stuff, but the game looks like fun, too.

Also, this is a Very Very Heavy Book. The DriveThruRPG page is not kidding when it says "over seven pounds".

This is both peculiar and intriguing.

This is such a cool idea... Like admitting that a lot of people buy games manuals as art books. And you'll learn something nonfictional if you memorize the "lore" in this one.

I'm also wondering about copyright on the NASA manuals lol. I guess none of them are under copyright.

subdee: US government publications are (in general) not covered by US copyright and are in the public domain in the US.

Okay, I grabbed a copy of the pdf (which does not include the 1100 pages of NASA manuals - giant pdf is much less absurd an object than giant book that can be used as a lethal weapon). This is actually an adorable bit of nerdy improv theater. Very much leaning in to the improv "yes, and..." way of interacting.
