My biggest reaction to "Fury Road" back in the day was that George Miller must be some magical genius to get a major studio to fund such a mad, mad masterpiece.

This trailer gives every indication that he's still got it.

Oh my god. I'm in.

Now to go look up the A.S. Byatt story.

The story is The Djinn in the Nightingale's Eye.

Only George Miller movie I've seen I really liked was Babe but on the strength of that alone I think he's a genius, so this sounds great already.

grobstein- Miller produced Babe but didn't direct it. But he did direct the sequel, Babe 2: Pig in the City, which is, from what I remember, a pretty bonkers departure from the first movie. In a good way.

Was moderately intrigued about this after reading this interview with Miller today; after seeing the trailer I can’t wait!

Ok thank you for this addition to my to-watch list as well as the info about Babe. I checked though and while you're right he didn't direct, he has a co-writing credit with the director.

This is the first trailer I've seen that has its own trailer.

The Djinn in the Nightingale's Eye is my favourite short story of all time. I can't wait to see this.

rhizome - that's a thing now, a 5 second announcement that you're about to watch the official trailer.

This absolutely drives me up the wall. Just… why?? What inhumanely short attention span is this catered to, and why would you even bother catering to it? Get off my lawn, etc.

Anyhoo, movie looks good, looking forward to it.

I added this to a reminders list of movies I’d like to watch and my iPhone asked if I’d like to create a reminder in 3022.

I know! It was so jarring how they launched into that 5 second announcement without any introduction.

I mean, I'm pretty confident this'll still be worth watching 100 years from now, so I say go for it.

Youtube ads are unskippable for ~5 seconds. So it's an ad to try to get you to watch the ad.

I'll basically watch anything Miller, Swinton or Elba individually so this is a pretty easy sell.

After years of wondering what it really means that the Mad Max guy and the Happy Feet guy are the same guy, this trailer shows me what happens when those things go into a blender together. I might even go to a theater for it.
