Buy a Mach 5. They are making enough for all of us. Freaking Mach 5s people. Those of you with big bladders can hold out for the Shooting Star. We live in paradise.

I'm not interested unless it's fully loaded; i.e., rotary saws, bullet deflector, super grip tire deployment, periscope, super headlights, homing robot and the ability to jump over other cars.

When George Barris comes up with a car reproduction factory, call me. I need a Batmobile!

It would be totally cool until you passed another one coming the other direction. [ sound of a balloon deflating ]

While flipping channels the other day I came across a new(?) updated Speed Racer cartoon. I noticed three things:

1) Lack of Monkeys

2) The new Mach 5 is fucking sweet.

3) Speed, sans scarf, is still incredibly for lack of a better phrase: stereotypically gay.

If they put that new car into production I'm on it. I couldn't find a picture of the new Mach 5 anywhere though.

Oh.........my gawd!

I'd forgotten all about Speed Racer, whoa--I wasn't even a gleam in my parents' eyes when in the 60s, but I remember watching re-runs on saturday mornings in the 80s. Thanks for the link to the update site, I've got to try and catch an episode of that.

I have dreamed since I was, oh, say 6 years old of having my very own G.I. Joe VAMP, VAMP Mark II, or even the Cobra Stinger (I know all essentially the same, but damn! So cool!)

I suppose a gas-devouring Hummer's probably as close as I'm like to get though.
