Enjoy a short interview with LEGO builder Jack Carleson as he shows off his Minifigure-scale Airbus A380. This completely freestanding model weighs nearly 100 lbs and has moving flaps, working lights and retractable landing gear.
+1000 for title reference

What a charming video. I am here for wholesome content right now.
Jack Carleson goes by the name "BigPlanes". Some more info: interview on the Lego site, his Youtube channel, his Flickr(!) photos, and a blog post with closeups of the A380. Be sure ot see his Saturn V which is about 9 feet tall (1:40 scale).

I really like the cutaway idea a lot. Those would be fun more filled out for lots of different planes. And it was nice to see how the builder processed the activity.

The project on its own is awesome as is, but this was a neat little interview as well, with an interviewer who understood the challenges of making such a big Lego model and was able to talk on a similar level to Jack.
Love this sort of thing!

Agree, the interviewer seemed to understand the complexity of it. Although there's something a little sad to me about it being packed away in storage most of the time. Give the amount of effort, I feel like I'd want to have it out to look at all much as possible. Thanks for posting, this was really interesting
