A very cute frog at the moment of sleeping. Also, This is what happens when you adore other frogs in front of a frog that loves its owner.

Here are all the frogs we have in our care. (14 varieties, including toads)
Don't miss the Hyalinobatrachium fleishmanni at 6:20. "It's green and transparent, just like a gummi bear."

Frog molting. Is tasty?

(Some people will not love the music or sound effects.)

2) Would some kind person send them a new song.

I cannot get enough of watching videos of frogs attempting to eat their humans. There's one where the frog is using its front feet to pull itself further along the finger as it swallows, and its owner lets out a small but eloquent "ew". If some mad scientist creates giant frogs and sets them loose, we're all done for.

Those are some cartoony looking frogs! Who would totally eat their owner if only the size difference could be overcome.

I didn't think that was possible for frogs to take such obvious pleasure in being touched, although I shouldn't have been surprised. When I was a kid there was one that lived in a pipe next to our basement. He showed up one day and I started feeding and man, did that frog know when he'd found a good thing. He didn't leave until it got cold, and I always tapped on the pipe when I'd brought him a fat spider or cricket or grasshopper. He was clever enough to come out of the pipe and stare up at me expectantly when I tapped on it.

Why frogs shed their skin (and eat it)
posted by Glinn at 12:32 PM on July 21, 2022 [1 favorite]

It was my understanding that handling frogs tends not to be good for them because they absorb everything through their skin (toads are different). Perhaps this applies to some species more than others.

It does apply to some more than others, but it's always something to be careful of. I expect that the hands in those videos are not that recently washed, but washed with clean-rinsing unscented soap, not moisturized, and not in contact with any kind of cleaner, oil, or food. The hands are probably also wet.

Some people (wisely) always handle frogs with gloves, often silicone or vinyl. Unfortunately, some frog populations have turned out to be very allergic -- fatally so -- to one or the other material. Pet frogs are generally fine with gloves, though, and do well with them.
