MSNBC's series Mavericks spends a half hour with Samantha Bee in Amidst Women’s Rights Clash, Sam Bee Fights Back With Comedy, Truth, And Late Night Breakthroughs. This is a great interview looking into Bee's career and growth across time, with a lot of introspection and insight. It was sadly recorded shortly before Full Frontal With Samantha Bee was cancelled after its seventh season [Variety].

What a ridiculous time to cancel the show. Such a bad decision, unless you like it, you know, when nationwide lawmakers are happy to let people die on the regular for having the kind of bodies that can and often don't want to have other things grow inside them. Sorry this comment wasn't funnier. Fart noise.

(Thank you, Bee, et al. You did really good work and I hope you land well. Or that some other network gets their head on straight and hires you all whole.)

I have a distinct anger about this. She is so at the top of her game, and she was totally innovative during the pandemic television era and we're entering a period of real political turmoil. It's like, was she silenced on some level, too provocative in an atmosphere of enclosing censorship? Was she somehow losing viewers in her timeslot? I watched her religiously, often first-run on broadcast because DISH feeds numbers back to channels and I want to be counted as Live And Present for her.

She channeled so much of my anger... and I don't know where I will turn now.

Honestly, it sounds like it was the merger/money and they just cut shows. Might not have happened had the merger not gone on. Same with say, CW shows being canceled this year.
