Thanks to juv3nal over in the Taskmaster Series 14 thread for sharing this. :)

"vegetarian is the bisexuality of diets"

You have to watch her on Taskmaster to see her at her best, which is making these frustrated, gutteral Scottish noises that probably mean something like "oh no!" but just sound like haggis being brought back up. They actually start the season 14 intro montage with her making that noise.

Hadn't heard of her before this at all but her comedy is in my sweet spot. Thanks!

Some material on intrusive thoughts that didn't make it into the special.

And more on being a stripper.

(I was on a Brady binge today, as it happens...)

I love Fern Brady. You can find one of her other specials on Spotify IIRC.

Region-locked but on iPlayer for people in the UK.

She is so funny, so glad she is on this season of Taskmaster and I discovered her comedy!

She talks about not feeling anything when she accomplished her comedy career goals. Anybody know if there's a word to describe the spectrum from people who have intense feelings about their accomplishments to people who don't feel anything about them?

I have been watching Fern on Taskmaster. I hadn't heard of her before. My husband and I have been watching this on Amazon Prime and she's just great.

I suppose this could be a manifestation of alexithymia (common among autistic people).

She does say that she went back to her room afterwards and felt happy while watching (IIRC) videos of pigs in wigs, so not completely disconnected from emotion?

I binged on a bunch of her stuff on iPlayer last year, including the special linked in the main post, which as noted above is still there for UK viewers. Fern Brady Goes Viral sadly has dropped out of view for the time being, but there are excerpts on YouTube: My Morning Routine and How to Glow Like a Princess.

Here's a podcast featuring Brady on autistic meltdowns, understanding emotions and being the ‘black sheep’.
