Season 4 of TCM's podcast The Plot Thickens is Here Comes Pam, 7 episodes of Ben Mankiewicz in conversation with Pam Grier about her life. From her childhood in Colorado to the present day, Pam tells her own story. And wow, what a story it is! Each episode runs ~45m, and there might be some bonus episodes released.

It's a great series. I have a whole new respect for Pam Grier now because the podcast reveals what a truly significant groundbreaker she was. She explains a lot of her thinking behind the roles she played early in her career during the blaxploitation film era. There was much more to them than big hair, tight and revealing clothes, and sassy dialogue.

I'd say most of the Black actresses who've had some success in mainstream Hollywood movies since the 1970s (and didn't start out in theater) owe a debt of gratitude to Grier.

This is great! So glad you shared this podcast. Can’t wait to listen to the season about Pam but the other seasons also look really interesting.

Huge fan of this podcast. Wasn't crazy about Season Two (the making of the box office bomb Bonfire of the Vanities) but the entire series has been well-crafted. Glad it's out there. Also like that TCM has aired a few of the Grier movies in the past few weeks as well.
