The 2022 Dog Photography Awards.

Be sure to look at the Finalists tab for lots more great dogs, and of course the 2021 winners and finalists, too.

Those pictures are enough to make me believe in Dog.

High-quality photography, plus dogs? I honestly can't think of a better combination. Thanks for sharing this, kristi.

I'm hard pressed to pick a favorite individual photo but if I had to, it would probably be the one by Kjara Kockbeck. Or possibly the one by Dalie Fichman. Or, from the finalists, the one by Desina Zbrankova Alboniova, which looks as though some primeval dog ancestor is leaping out from the mists of history. (I can't link to any of those photos directly because like so many photography websites, this one has an over-complicated design that stops me from linking to individual photos or seeing them full screen. JUST LET ME LOOK AT THE DOGS!)

I want them all to come to my house for a visit.
At the same time.

Love the dogs, hate the "loading our subject as background images" design.

They're a little easier to see elsewhere, like https://mymodernmet.com/2022-dog-photography-awards/

Dog photography? I'm in!

Oh. Photos of dogs. That's still interesting, I guess.

Back in the day, when we clicked on images to make them bigger we got to see the entire image and not just a cropped version.

The site overdesign is annoying but the dogs are worth it.

Love it.
If anyone wants to buy photos of cute dogs...at this time of the year you can't go past Avalanche (Avy) rescue dogs...some of the very bestest doggos around who keep millions of skiers safe....and their calendars:

Utah - Good Boys and Girls of the Wasatch Calendar - in support of the Wasatch Backcountry Rescue (WBR)
Colorado - Tincup Whiskey 2023 Avalanche Dog Calendar in support of the Colorado Rapid Avalanche Deployment

More Avy Dogs (from many to choose!)
Jackson Hole, WY
Mammoth Mountain, CA
Taos, NM
Northstar, CA
Beaver Creek, CO

I had the same thought as The corpse in the library - I expected more POV shots of squirrels, cats, etc. running away.

Yay! These are all great. I especially love all the action ones, and the kids+dogs.

It's not going to win any prizes, but here's my favorite photo of my foster dog Jasper.

was kind of hoping this would be awards for photographs taken by dogs but this is a pretty good consolation prize

I find myself wanting to know the names of the dogs, and wondering why they are not included.

It’s so they can live a normal life without having to worry about being harassed by the puparazzi.

Some great shots there, though I feel like some of those dogs need a lot more cuddling. By me.

I really hated the site design, though. That giant floating X to close the window made me not want to keep looking.

Meanwhile, all of the people with dogs photos looked like bad Hallmark cards to me. The dogs looked great in them, but there was enough schmaltz there to hide a year's worth of heartworm pills inside.
