If the whole half-hour is as dense as the intro, I'm going to need a couplefew sittings to finish it!

This was great and I'm going to watch some other years of their videos. I was pretty tiny in 1979 but a lot of the things in the video lasted into the 80s so it was all familiar. It also somehow walked the line of not feeling like they were picking sides while also mostly avoiding both-sideism or trying to make a point. That's getting harder to find these days and sometimes I just want to enjoy a thing. I enjoyed this thing.

Thanks for this! I'm going to watch it soon! I like Weird History -- the first time I saw it, I was pleasantly surprised because I had the idea that it was just another factoid channel, but it's really got something going.

This was the world I was born into. When I grew up, it all seemed natural, even more or less eternal, and it took many years to realize how much upheaval and change for the worse was going on.

I was six in '79 and remember it quite well and wanted to watch this, but unnnggghhhh, I only made it about four minutes in before the jokey faux-Ze-Frank narration made me want to break something. Do we need to be glib about Mengele before segueing into the Village People?

It’s “funny”, being european, that history is almost, always american history. The culture, the products, the stars, the wars…
