Stacy's Aunt is Really Kind of Hot...

Anadvora is an adorable nerd person on Youtube who posts songs, video essays and other stuff that will charm the socks right off of you. Her ragtime version of the Kinks' Lola is not to be missed, nor is Stacy's Aunt, her hilarious sequel to Stacy's Mom. And then there's her absolute mania for classic series Doctor Who...
Her video about her efforts to create a one-off, gorgeous, hand-band volume of Lungbarrow, an obscure Doctor Who novel (featuring her own illustrations!) may well convince you that such a thing was not just good, but necessary. Then there's her bouncy new wave jam about People Who Look Like Griffin McElroy, her intriguingly weird animated short films, her rec room gameshows with her friends, various fandom mashup and animatics, and her cover of the Altogether's Ladybug that will start your weekend with a smile.
She's just really neat, you guys.

The version of “Lola” is indeed charming, but rhythmically it’s a disaster. I’m afraid I was unable to finish it. I wish Anadvora the best, however.

I'm not literally face blind, but I am constantly seeing resemblances that nobody else sees, so I loved where Anadvora's Griffin McElroy song went.

I'm glad somebody else said it. A surprising number of commenters zeroed in on whether Stacy's Aunt was the very funniest Stacy's Mom parody out there, as if it was a competition. I suppose the focus on that particular song might be my fault, since I quoted it in the post title, but Anadvora does a lot of cool stuff beyond that.
(Also, personally I think her song beats Stacy's Dad by a mile. Stacy's Dad just kind of seems like a gay version of Stacy's Mom to me. Stacy's Aunt has more layers, with Stacy as an actual character experiencing this steadily escalating horror as her latest creepy-ass boyfriend explains how he wants to bang every single person in her family. The phrase "she's a total GILF and I'm a huge fan" got me good.)

And Stacy's Aunt continually references Stacy's Dad and Stacy's Mom. I always though the original was not a very good song, but I love what people are doing with it.

That Ladybug cover opened me up to a whole new band that seems to have transformed quite a lot over the years, and it makes me wonder why Brian David Gilbert is apparently no longer in the band (he's not listed as a band member on the About page at this time). It looks like he grew a beard, and does videos for Polygon now? (Not necessarily in that order.) Anyway, neat little find!
