Frank yanks off the wig and glasses, turning out to be Fergus all along.

As someone who caused a new family to be created by leaving a job (long story), all I can say is — awww!

Fergus then peels off the fake face, turning out to be Wakeen all along!

(No, but really, this is absolutely adorable.)

That's wonderful! Sounds like an uplit novel by Mike Gayle or somebody.

"Ask a Manager" has become my favorite advice column by a pretty wide margin. This is a really heartwarming story, but the site also excels at tales of working situations so unbelievably terrible that one can only read and marvel. In fact, I suspect (although I do not know for sure) that Alison Green has drifted over time in a more pro-labor stance purely on the basis of the crazy stories she hears from her readership.

One just never knows where they will find love and acceptance. This is so sweet.

Ipsifendus, coincidentally there was a deep dive post yesterday about how AAM works behind the scenes where Alison explicitly acknowledges her own pro-labour drift over time, and how being so exposed to so many wild and awful labour relations issues made that happen (question 34 at the link).

I also very much needed & wanted the individual profiles on her six cats (question 35 at the link).

I'm happy that Frank got a good resolution. The manager was not in a great position. Before I retired, I worked in an office that routinely dealt in confidential student information and if I were to "drop by", there's a risk that I'd see something I shouldn't. Nothing I hadn't seen before, mind you, but as I'm no longer an employee, I'm not entitled to see it. Respecting privacy is everybody's job.

In the behind the scenes post, Alison lives the dream, in which she writes paragraphs about her many cats and strangers on the internet are thrilled.
