If you turned on ESPN in November of 2022, you may well have seen something messed up: The Microsoft Excel World Championship

From the makers of the video:

"Hiring a green screen and letting Quinns loose on the topic of Excel as an eSport seemed like a good idea at the time, but honestly, we should have seen this coming. Here's a very weird video we've made."

You can learn more about The Excel World Championship here or see the (paywalled) ESPN segment referenced here.

Speed-running 50lb Rubik's cubes while carrying them 100 yards barefoot across a hot parking lot!

The Excel World Championship would be perfect for The Ocho.

this video is an absolute delight, as is anything PMG or Quinns

the part where they attempt to tag-team one of the previous cases made me very much also want to try, but also very aware of how bad and dumb I am at anything in Excel mathematically related or more complex than xlookup

I think the Ocho was showing the Roofball semifinals that day.

The video is fun. It was great we could watch the two actually work through a case.

I missed this post 2 days ago, but after reading yesterday's post about Visual Basic, I was watching a VB tutorial, and as part of that tutorial, there was a sample spreadsheet of the Kevin Cookie Company. So it was truly bizarre to me that the Kevin Cookie Company showed up in this video at 8:30.

I couldn't finish either video anyway, due to negative reactions to both presenters.
