We mentioned the Winamp Skin Museum at skins.webamp.org three years ago.
But we didn’t mention the interactive, browser-based version of Winamp.

Whoaaaaaaaa! The browser-based version supports Milkdrop??? No way!

Milkdrop has been my go-to for when I'm ... in a certain mood ... for over two decades. I wonder if the browser version supports all the presets and has the same performance as the original. If so, wow that's kind of a game-changer. To this day, nobody has ever made a music visualizer anywhere near as good as Milkdrop.

For years I have wished there was a way to pipe Spotify/Pandora through Winamp to get Milkdrop visualization. I actually hacked together a hardware-based solution a number of years ago that worked pretty well but was kinda flaky, and eventually I stopped fixing it.

What did llamas ever do to the Winamp devs?

panama joe, Kodi has a couple of Milkdrop-based addons, and a third-party Spotify addon, if that's a direction you want to go.

I miss the late 90s/early 2000s when a large fraction of WinAmp users could reasonably be expected to know who Wesley Willis was (and of course, having Wesley Willis still be alive as well). I mean my parents knew who he was—they were crying laughing at the lyrics to "Cut the Mullet":
Get the rat's nest off your head
Get that crazy ass mutha off your skull
Take your ass to the barbershop
Tell the barber that you're sick of looking like an asshole
[...]
The mullet is the reason why people hate you
RIP Mr. Willis.

This is excellent, but still no cross-fader that can be set to ignore tracks by size.

Which is not a complaint about this accomplishment, it's just that the cross-fader for the original WinAmp was (and still is so far) the only MP3 Player to include it.

Obligatory mention of WACUP for fellow Winamp holdouts.

I fired up the browser app and hit play. Which was way too loud on my machine but, instinctively, I reached for the volume slider on muscle memory alone and turned it down.

Welcome back, old friend. =)
