Jugendsinfonieorchester Leipzig, "W.A. Mozart - Serenate ex C - Ganz kleine Nachtmusik KV648." AFP: "Unknown Mozart string trio discovered in Germany": "The piece dates to the mid- to late-1760s and consists of seven miniature movements for a string trio lasting around 12 minutes ... 'the inspiration ... apparently came from Mozart's sister.'" International Mozarteum Foundation's media kit and press release for The New Köchel. Stadt Leipzig Newsletter. Wikipedia. International Music Score Library Project. See also the fictionalized film Mozart's Sister, available on Kanopy, Hoopla, and Tubi.
Austria should enter this for Eurovision 2025, with a presentation like "Rock Me Amadeus." I'd vote for it so fast...

If you'd like to hear a better performance than the young musicians in an outdoor performance, this one is of a professional trio in a concert setting, with continuo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qne57NUS7Bw
My husband, a professional violinist who does a lot of coaching of adult amateurs, said this piece will certainly be on the program of the summer "strings music camp" for adults where he is a faculty member.

So Mozart was writing boring shit for middle voices/instruments real young, apparently.
(Yes, I am bitter, I sang a lot of choral Mozart when I was young and still an alto. Mozart's a lot more fun for sopranos.)

I never realized that the Köchel was an actual thing that you could own a copy of. The feeling of learning that I could indeed purchase a copy, but that it's only available in German, a language I don't speak; I'm sure that there is a German word for that. I'll settle for the English-language website, but that's decidedly less fun.
