Saw them live in 1996 at umass outside stage. Was already aware from MTV. Was cool to see live.

I saw them at the first Lolapaloza tour when it came to Great Woods in Mass. My family owned a liquor store-long story- and the Miller sales rep could get all the free lawn seats I wanted, and dibs on pavilion seats with no mark up. I saw a lot of shows there.

EBN had an spot with a car, or van, or something, lots of screens, and I was unable to look away.

Reminds me of this.

Also, EBN was parodying television, and its ability to march us to war

Who is making internet satire about the modern massive online disinformation campaigns?

I remember seeing the first piece when it was the opening for U2's Zoo TV tour. It was life-changing.

If I recall, EBN even had a Macromedia Director app on the CD that let you remix video clips live, based off of what they used to create the songs…

Brings back the memories of Adbusters, Jello Biafra and all of the anti-consumerism movements of that time period.

Imagining making that We Will Rock Video on an old linear editor is giving me a headache. Awesome.

If any of this hits for you, listen to Telecommunication Breakdown front to back. Amazing album, ahead of its time, still holds up.

Just checked, I still have the three .MOV files (378.MOV, EBCS.MOV, and SCHIZO.MOV) that came on a 3.5" diskette that was smooshed into the packaging of the Telecommunication Breakdown CD when I bought it. Now I wonder if I still have that diskette somewhere?
