I can't decide between "three festering gourds", "off-kilter internet talk-talk clown", and "gourd spores" as my new sockpuppet name.

Aside from that, this was a very entertaining and sort-of educational video!

When she took it out of the opaque plastic bin, I thought that was a strange idea -- seemed like sunlight would have been a big part of the process.

I'm actually not sure it is, composting doesn't need it and sprouts will still sprout without sunlight too.

I'm already making a mental list of friends I have to send Sage the Bad Naturalist videos to, and it's a long list. This is both, somehow, extremely specific, yet also for almost everyone.

She says right there in the video that she puts it in there because her housemates are so grossed out by having it on the windowsill. This is a thing that she knew at the time was deviating from the tiktok video's method, as opposed to all the other things she did that also didn't follow its method but which she didn't realize until later.

That was unexpectedly great--like, halfway through I wanted to say, it's not a good experiment! The original video used a jar with a rubber thingy to make a good airtight seal, which is not a feature of Costco's Kirkland Almond plastic containers! Air would be getting in! Bugs too! But the debunking of her own debunking was great!
