In another life, I worked on the vessel that services Palmer Station, Antarctica, the Laurence M. Gould. Not sure from the picture whether the ship they’re referring to in the article is the Gould or the Nathaniel Palmer, which despite sharing a namesake with Palmer Station, actually services a different research area. McMurdo, I think; but it’s been many years, so I couldn’t swear to that.
But it’s interesting that the company that owns and operates these vessels(Edison Chouest Offshore) is one of the biggest donors to the GOP and Trump in Louisiana, and also focuses mainly on oil industry support operations. So while wrecking the environment and destroying everything on the front end, they also get paid on the back end to operate the vessels that study the damage, all while actively participating in climate change denial. Funny how that works.

Wow! That is super impressive - I never would have guessed that the underside of an iceberg would be so colorful.
