The chicks are back in Byron Bay

Those baby waxed lapwings are some cute chicks. And today I learned what I grew up calling cattails are known as bullrushes in other parts of the English speaking world. But bullrush or cattails, do the children of Oz do as I did and color them with half peeled Crayola crayons? That was a lot of fun.

Guess who just got hatched today
Them wild-downed boys that were on the way
Haven't changed much, here in Byron Bay
But man, I still think them chicks are crazy
