I have very little invertebrate squick, and I enjoy slugs (holding a banana slug is a favorite vacation memory), but these pink ones were very startling.

I don’t like slugs at all—they freak me out, blame the giant banana slugs of Vancouver, BC. But those pink ones are pretty cool looking! and it’s great to hear the wildlife is starting to recover after the bush fires.

They look like tuna sashimi that got dropped in the forest! Or an extra long surf clam that’s all one color, which I guess makes more sense since I believe they are both mollusks. But the shininess gives me tuna sashimi vibes. The mammal that I am looks at those pictures and goes “oh my god put your skin back on!”

Lovely. But some tiny frustration--no available online sale of said giant pink slug souvenirs. My xmas tree weeps.
