Art is not a luxury As noted in the Hyperallergic obituary: Artist Jaune Quick-to-See Smith, (b. 1940, citizen of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Nation) who bore witness to Native life, has died at the age of 85. Her five-decade oeuvre is an intimate visual lexicon that bridges personal memories and joyful resilience.
