Howard Stern - movie producer He is is going to remake Porky's and Rock 'N' Roll High School. "If I say to an audience, particularly my audience, this is 'Howard Stern Presents,' it means something to them," Stern said. "It means that it's going to be crazy. It means that it's going to be different, and they know I'm not going to be giving them any schlock."

BTW, Rock 'N' Roll High School is a favorite of mine and a version of it with Creed or Limp Bizkit would really be horrible.

Remakes, are the scourge of our times. If he were really smart , Howard would not do this.

A re-make of Rock and Roll High School? Is nothing sacred these days? I wish Howard all the luck, but I don't have a good feeling about this.

Well, not just any schlock.... special made Howard Stern brand schlock.

Can't be worse than Rock 'n' Roll High School Forever, filmed at least in part at my high school, starring Corey Feldman and featuring "the band of the 90s," The Pursuit of Happiness.

If ever in cinema history there has been one film that truly does not need to be remade, it's Porky's. Sheesh.

The big movie studios have left all their creativity in the sock drawer the last few years. Just look at the two big films opening today: I Spy and The Santa Clause 2. Howard Stern, in any case, has long since gone insane from the site of all those big ta tas being unleashed in his radio studio and should never, out of kindness, be used as a frame of reference. Still, it will be interesting to see his version of the Peeping Tom Shower scene.

Stern is waiting to see the completed scripts before deciding whether he'll play any onscreen roles in the movies.

Insert "Howerd Stern / Joey Ramone / Separated at Birth" joke here.

special made Howard Stern brand schlock.

That would of course be: shock schlock.

Oh my yes, Porky's needs to be remade every 20 years so that each new generation can be scarred for life. And so that a new generation of fresh faces can see their future in Hollywood go up in flames. Look at Dan Monihan (Pee Wee). Without Porky's on his resume he would have never gone on to star in such classics as....Porky's II and Porky's Revenge.

Off-topic: billboard.com is ugly. And two pop-up ads (plus a casino banner)? What, are they hurting for money or something?

Secret life of gravy - don't forget Lassie the screamer. She plays Samantha on Sex in the City.

I heard Howard make the announcement this morning. One thing he said I thought was funny was that naturally they'd have to update the movie since the original wasd a bit dated. Yes, it was...a period film set in the 1950s made in the 1980s.

No, I didn't forget about Kim Cattrall-- but a quick check of her credits shows she was working back in 1975-- 6 years before Porky's. Not really one of the "fresh faces" I was talking about.

Oh c'mon...think a remake of Rock'n'Roll High School, add in the Donnas and 10 oil-wrestling scenes. I'd buy that for a dollar.

I would actually probably go see both re-makes.... I have no doubt that Howard knows his way around the Porky's material, but R&RHS is another matter. It all hinges on what band he picks. Donnas, yes! Limp Bizkit, no! Unfortunately, I have a feeling he'll pick something more like Limp Bizkit....

I thought they already re-made Porky's for the "new generation. It was called American Pie.

spilon, ditto on the donnas. would be a good choice. as long as one of them says "mmmm...Pizza."
