Is the Boss really in charge? Tucows is -- supposedly legally -- posting tracks from his early album, "Before the Fame" (though that sounds like a title applied after the fact to *me*).

Well, as a die-hard Springsteen fan, and after I downloaded all 20 songs, I can say yes, The Boss is in charge. They may be "free", but there's a hitch. They're in .plj format which requires a Winamp plugin or the PlayJ Player, both of which run real-time advertising while you play the song. Stop the music and the ads stop. Crafty, I'd say. I guess its a small price to pay for true fans of The Boss.

I figured there was a hitch.

WinAmp can actually do translations, can't it? If not, I'm sure that someone will figure out a solution... (A phrasing, which, I suppose, presupposes that this is a *problem*. I'm really not sure what I think of that...)
