Grrl Site

stupidest, most anachronistic category ever.

You beat me to it. I loathe any and all usage of the word (coining the term loosely) grrl. I cringe whenever I see it. And why no bois? Why is it that grrls rate their own category and bois don't?

I expect to find a few interesting new sites to check out via this list, though. Thanks, Peter H.

quonsar, what site of yours did they reject or ignore anyway?
...i'm sure once they offer an award for a personal mefi profile containing images of fat naked men gazing at their computer you will be covered in the gold and praise you deserve ... but admittedly yeah the GRRL site is pretty wince inducing. since when was nike a feminist?
early interest on my part: experimental weird/extreme and movie/tv

Grrrl site: stupidest, most anachronistic category ever.

And I can't tell you how depressing it is that not only are three of the five sites nominated in this category fashion related (one by Nike, for chrissakes), but of the other two, one is focused on juvenile life advice ("Relationships can be soooo confusing, and change so fast!"), and the last is a collection of sites of "girl" artists. This particular site actually seems to have some content and community building intent, and I'm not going to knock it, but I am cringing at the other nominations. It's long since time to throw away the "grrl" apellation, and while we're at it, can we get rid of "goddess", too? Formerly amusing, now just marketing.

wouldn't matter PeterH. it's an incestuous, self-congratulatory wankfest. i'd have been, at best, amused to be included, in fact if my site HAD been nominated you can bet i'd have made a mockery of the nomination on a daily basis. besides, i'm holding out for a foofy-doofy kimmy's finest neato-cool teddybears kittys and angels award.

oh thats horseshit quon. your own site (which is a combined blog, right?) is much more incestuous and masturbatory than some random and unrelated list of sites from across the net. if you're not childishly bitter about having your work ignored why are you so bitchy about it - down to the ol' fantasy of "if i'd have been included, ya know what i'd do, I'D TELL EM ALL TO GO TO HELL"?

should say i really like your site, incidentally. very funny. but you're talking out of your ass here.
