Letters Flash game

"That's not gaming; that's just typing!" A time-waster to end all time-wasters, with no redeeming qualities whatsoever. I love it! [Just type the letters as they appear, Flash req.]

Oh if Mavis Beacon could see me now. *sniff*

If you're a hunter and a pecker, this is not the game for you. Fun, though.

I love it as well! I sucked at it as I've yet to master the fine art of not looking at the keyboard while typing, but hey, it raised my pulse nonetheless. Thanks, Carlos.

It's cool, but where are the zombies?

Oops, sorry lazy-ville! And everyone else too.

Hey, I even got to recycle my zombies gag! Double posts rock.

great game. missed it the first time, i suppose. thx.

(256. er. yeah. the letters soaring across the screen make it uniquely difficult. my eyes don't move as fast as they did before, uh, the incident.)

Can't possibly increase at a linear pace, can it? Anybody tried playing the left end to see if it doesn't increase as quickly?

Stan, like Aunt Jemima, Mavis Beacon is a fictitious person dreamed up to sell you typing skills and/or syrup. I just looked it up and now I'm kind of bummed out. I though she might have been some kind of typing goddess who could type 1000 words a minute.

Nifty game -- waaay too addictive for a nerd/dork/geek like me.

I missed it the first time 'round as well. It is nifty, but I suck at it. I can't seem to get passed the 160 letter mark, which is supremely silly since I'm a much better typist than that. I think I start to freak out once they start going faster.

That game got my pulse going faster than it did during the entire duration of Daredevil.

I can barely see the screen through these watery eyes, and my hands, oh god, my hands are trembling to the point that I am incorrectly striking the the 't' key with my right index finger where the left finger would be far more efficient. OH MAVIS BEACON WHY HAVE YOU FORSAKEN ME?!?

asdf ... jkl; ....... lies.. all lies!

I thought you were truly cared about my words per minute. Why did you award me with this certificate of 'Congratulations for Completing Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing', quite possibly the happiest moment of my life? I remember catching a wayward tear that rolled off my cheek which threatened to soil the freshly printed certificate. I can still smell the wet ink off my Hewlett Packard. Now that foul stench twists my very being!

I reject you Beacon! Your wicked method of combating Repetitive Stress Disorder is a harsh medicine indeed. I remember closely guarding my heart from being stolen by that daft thief Carmen Sandiego, but lo I could not fathom it being stabbed so viciously by you Beacon. Watch me now as I peck and hunt for each letter, while slouching in my chair. How do you like that you foul demon wrench!

*peck* *hunt* *peck*

Oh I can feel the screams from your fictitious universe. I hope you choke on Aunt Jemima's syrup.

Typing individual letter seems much harder than whole words. I can, um, "almost" touch type, I just need a quick glance at the keyboard every now and then. However, in the game I'm in trouble all the time, not remembering where the letters are on the keyboard. My speed improves somewhat if make (nonsensical) sequences out of the letters, and type them.

(372, fourth attempt).

Woo-hoo! 3890: #5 on the day's top scores. And I can't even type very well; I think this game pretty much a unique skill, only marginally related to your typing ability...

Thanks to my slow computer, I scored over 19,000. Woot!

19,000??!?! How slow is your computer? I'm a fast typer on a Pentium III 500 and I can only get 400...

Hahahaha..... 32553. I was in some kind of trance for most of it. Got too bored with it to go on.

Okay, so it is a little harder on my fast computer.

Pretty sad that a 350Mhz processor can't keep up with a game that my C=64 could have handled.

10061, then I had to stop for dinner.

My score was produced on a PIII 450, with 128 megs of RAM. So 3.5 years ago...

Damn. I wish I had a slow computer, instead of this 1.8GHz monstrosity. Damn, damn my luck!

me too. I'm around 60 wpm typing, but can't break 400 on this game. And I've played it way too much. Definitely a good time waster...

I have a PIII with 256 megs of ram and a high speed connection. So far my highest score is 180. I maintain that I am a fairly decent typist and my low score does not accurately reflect my typing abilities.

You think you have problems? Try getting a high score with a broken 'u' key. :-)
posted by wildeep at 2:24 PM on February 18, 2003

Bah! It's impossible to get a higher score when the site has gone poopy. :(
