My prediction, in about six months someone in the new product area of Heinz is gonna be unemployed (Think clear Pepsi).

I will not eat it on my fries,
I will not spill it on my ties,
I will not eat it on a burger,
I will not eat it wearing fake fur.
I will not eat it on a steak,
Chicken, pork or rattlesnake,
I will not eat it on a weiner,
So neener, neener, neener, neener...
(but mustard, maybe... "Excuse me, do you have any Green Poupon?")

How could they think of firing someone over that? I mean they did market research and focus groups. The kids wanted ketchup of a different color, and they added vitamin C to attract the parents! It can't fail!

This is New Coke all over again. Try to imagine the market research:
Things that would make kids eat more ketchup -
1) If it gave me the power of flight.
2) If it made broccoli taste like a Snickers
3) If it could play MP3s
......
128) If it was green
We have a winner!

Speaking as someone with dozens of green tomatoes in her garden, I think it's a great idea. I'm impatient to use them, and I'm sick of frying them. Wonder if they'll share their recipe...

Fenriss--
I'm sure they will-- take regular ketchup. Add green food coloring to taste.
Poof! Green Ketchup.

Having had the chance to sample the stuff today w/my two oldest kids (it's good to live in Pittsburgh and have friends at Heinz) it's. . . just ketchup. My kids liked the bottles, as did all of the kids there, and all of them said the same things. "Ooh it's greeeeeeeeeen!" and "It tastes just like ketchup." They'll want it, I'll buy it, why not? Can't hurt.

I know I want to try it, and I'm not even a kid anymore, technically. I don't even like ketchup much, but I like things that are green and weird-looking. the point was to make money, and they're going to make lots of it I bet.
