Do you know your comic book heroes? Well, the proprietor of this humble site doesn't know everything, but the attempt (with the old school frames and the pixellated scans) is certainly admirable. And you might as well brush up on your Hulk knowledge before the movie comes out, right?

<derail>I can't read the blue on black links at all. My eyes are burning</derail>

It's cool, but it's not even close to complete. Which, before criticizing, I should say that a complete comic book db would be a daunting task which would result in a very useful resource.

I remember seeing something like this years ago that was a little more filled out. (for example, the Vertigo section is missing Doom Patrol, The Invisibles and many others. And where's the overhyped, but so entertaining Valiant line of books? I also don't see anything from Fantagraphics, publishers of Love and Rockets. It can't be a database of comics without Maggie and Hopey.)

There's no Eyeball Kid, which disappoints me, but there is another MeFite.

Pah! Their entry on Patsy Walker is laughably incomplete (this is a comics character dating back to the forties people!) and the entry for that most fucked-up mainstream heroine ever, Lyta Hall, is also way too brief. I mean, her allegedly dead ex-husband is now Dr. Fate!!

Nice site for beginners, I guess. [/fanboy]

Hmm. No Nexus, I see.

If it could be completed, it would be a powerful ally.

Good to know I'm not the only one that uses Nexus as a litmus test, rocketman.

There's also the Grand Comic Database. It focuses more upon the comics themselves rather than the characters (scripts, pencils, inks, colors, leterers listed for many books). Makes a good companion piece to the Comic Characters' Database.

Horrible design. Simply criminal. I'd expect better from someone of such an obviously strong nerdly persuasion.

Yeah, the site is sort of unreadable, but I still am digging it. Nice link, grabbingsand.

I refuse to trust any comic book resource that refers to Harvey Dent's character in the Batman series as "Twofaces".

After all, there's only one of him, right?

I liked the pictures of little Matteo, which inspired the famous Ochhio Balla Kid. ;)
