Possible constitutional changes rock Liechtenstein. Prince Hans Adam II of Liechtenstein has vowed to leave the country if he doesn't win a referendum today on legitimizing his rule. Opponents say it's a power grab (NYT link)...and the prince's critics have had mangled cat and pig remains left on their doorsteps.

I actually visited Liechtenstein once. The national dish is hot dogs in gravy with spaetzle. 27 bucks a plate. definitely not hiding Weapons of Mass Destruction.

I had dinner one table down from opera singer Kathleen Battle when I was in Vaduz a long time ago. Didn't have hot dogs in gravy, though. (Neither did she.)

Haven't got any links, but someone I spoke to today said 53% voted for 'legitimising'.
