Let the Madness Begin

Who's this years favorite? Anyone want to guess who will win it all? Got that someone in the office that does better than the sports "know it all"? Let the bracket analysis, predictions, and of course trash talk commence for MADNESS!

Oregon and Wake Forest in the championships, and Oregon will take it all!

Okay, probably not, but that'd be pretty cool.

I ain't no sports buff, but I say the terrorists who have already won 343,000 times have a good chance.

The Terrorists, while having three-point shots based on their experience with molotovs, lack free throw shooting and discipline.

They'll be out in the second round.

The Iraqi Republican Guard will fold in the first round.

But the North Korean Army may be the spoiler

I certainly hope Bush doesn't interrupt any important tourney matchups with any lame-ass press conferences with Tony Blair and whathisface from Spain - at which we're told what we already knew, and what he's said 1,000 times. Really. I don't care what your position on the war is. This is ridiculous. CBS broke into the SEC Championship (Kentucky v. Miss. State) this afternoon to do just that. For heaven's sake. There wasn't even a split screen - not that this wouldn't be bad enough. And this was all happening as the Bulldogs were taking the lead over the Wildcats for the first time. They lost in the end, but it was just starting then to turn into a real game when Bush showed up to tell us how bad Saddam is, and how negotiations are coming to an end or whatever.

If he does this again ... oh, my, I hear the sound of a MOAB blowing up real good at a certain ranch in Texas.

He could just interrupt the play-in game, or the Ew-poy/UK game. ;)

Perhaps it would be worthwhile letting us know what the hell the FPP is about? I'm at work, so I tend not to click on unknown links.

The annual NCAA mens' collegiate basketball tournament, salmacis -- they just released the pairings (or "brackets") today.

I would have picked Arizona to win it, but the people of the USA and the Sportscenter guys picked Kentucky so in the interest of winning the office pool, I will probably pick them, too.

Me, I'd like to see Duke or Wake Forest win, but I don't think this is the year for the ACC.

I'm going for the long shot here, but I think this is the year for my Pennsylvania Quakers!

CBS is actually floating ideas to give coverage of the tourney to ESPN or another network if/when war breaks so you shouldn't have to worry too much about interuptions.
By the way, I would've picked the Illini to go far but they are in a very tough bracket.

-Miss St. all the way.

The Lukes. . . .

That's all I have to say. . .

I wish ESPN had coverage instead of CBS. Less Billy Packard, more Dickie V!

But more than that I'd rather just not attack anybody. I'll take Billy Packard over war anyday.

I was hoping to get Bill Walton running his mouth off as his sun led AZ to the title but, with Duke in their region, that ain't gonna happen. Tubby Smith, though, with that name and the bigorexia seems to predict that the other 'Cats will get the job done.

have you heard the somersaults the selection committee is turning to accomodate religion?

gwong: Red and blue we're with you, and we're cheering for your men. So it's fight, fight fight Pennsylvania, Fight on for Penn!

That being said, I think they'll be lucky to get past the second round. They're competent and they've been doing well this year, but to take it all, you need more points, boards and assists than any of their players can put together.

danOstuporStar: don't worry, it won't be a problem. The odds of BYU busting the bracket are about the same as the odds of the world being destroyed in a nuclear cataclysm.

sgt.serenity: People with "baseball smarts" have no patience with a simple game like basketball.

I can't stand Walton (sr.), it's almost like he's trying to become a Greatful Dead version of Dickie V.
