Dr Kaos: Mad about Science, Crazy about God! What's weird is that I found this site by typing www.crawdad.com, because hey, who doesn't love the word "crawdad"?
Mad about Science, Crazy about God?
Isn't that kind of contradictory?

Doug -- The whole philosophy of science that so dominates our modern world is a product of the historically monotheistic and largely Christian weltanschauung of western thought. God and Science are not at odds, though there are many who enjoy imposing that supposed conflict on scientists and Christians alike.

So does no one here appreciate the fine delicacy that is a crawfish? I don't partake myself, but I know many who enjoy a good boiled crawdad. I've even seen some people practicing the rather frightening art of "sucking head," in which you suck the juices from the crawdad's body out through its soft head. Yuck.

Ericost,
I suppose if you believe that things like Fairies and Gremlins aren't in conflict with science, I guess I'd have to agree with you on your above point, cause we obviously mean different things by "conflict." Short of that, I hardly see how the believe in magical men and talking snakes has anything to do with science. The both developed in human society, but so did Martin Luther King Jr. and Joseph Stalin.
