Today is World Pinhole Photography Day. You can make some fascinating, evocative, and compelling images with lensless cameras. (Lomophiles, eat your heart out!) What is pinhole photography? Simply put, it's photography using a tiny aperture instead of a lens to focus the light rays on the film. You can make your own camera out of anything from an oatmeal can to a camping trailer. Get shooting!

More than a year, I think those images are neat enough to justify a repost. I'd forgotten about pinhole day myself - I've been planning to go back to it for about six months, but other projects kept coming up. Now school's over, no darkroom access..

This one is really amazing. The sharpness and perfect exposure are very un-pinhole-y. I wonder to what extent it was photoshopped?

Ironic that the ads on the right are all for lenses and other equipment.

Lastt year I was inspired to make a pinhole camera out of an empty beer can but it kept looking like a bong. Maybe I'll try again.
