April 30 is Koninginnedag. Time to party, drink beer in huge crowds (Amsterdam 2001) or to get rid of your stuff in the attic on a "vrijmarkt". Kids love selling all kinds of junk. Queens love Queensday too. Vote for the top 10 Queen outfits. Finally, this one's for the monkeys. Click on Koninginnedag.

Thanks for those links ginz. I´ve been travelling from Copenhagen to Amsterdam since 1995 for Koninginnedag. Have to miss it this year due to "commitments."
At least I can show my girlfriend what she´s missing.

PROOST!

Flaming typical that my flight to Amsterdam is booked for tomorrow. I've been over for Queen's Day in the past, and it's brilliant. (Though I really wouldn't want to have to clear up the mess afterwards.) Also, 'Koningin' ('Queen') is one of the funniest words ever, especially in a Dutch accent.

If you look at the one photo gallery, there's a picture of a guy drinking what looks like a freakin' Corona, for cryin' out loud! Tsk, tsk.

Does this coincide with the May 1st celebration in Europe?

Ok, Ginz, May Day/Labor Day;P

Trying to reference the date with its numerical date because I have heard different names on this date for a holiday.
