Jarrett's Blood Splatter Photoshop Tutorial. Learn to create horrific violence in this step-by-step guide from a Fark Photoshopper. "After you're done with the blood splatters, you might want to add shreds of clothing or body parts at your discretion." And they say reading Fark won't teach you anything.

That's a very well-done tutorial, and generous as well, considering that is come from a photoshop contest, where methods are like the "secret ingredients".

I remember seeing this at Fark pretty recently and thinking that it was one of the best photshop bloody tiger-devourings I'd seen in a while.

You'll probably want to avoid selecting the writing in blood, unless you mean to suggest that the tiger is Japanese and knows Kanji.

See, it's all about details. Details!

Ha! The "Dr. Chris" in the picture is a good friend of mine. I never would have expected that a meme involving a friend could be simultaneously a) hilarious, b) educational, and c) involve a picture of them being horribly dismembered.

Jarret does great work.

Now why can't someone do a "Teach yourself (Gimp|Photoshop)" book like this? I would buy it.

Yes. I want more.

How about this: catdrchris is not only a big cat lover, but also a Fark member!

Here's the Fark Photoshop thread.

What about the "Admiral Ackbar" photoshop tutorial? 'Cause that wacky little guy just makes any picture pure, twenty-four-carat comedy gold.

Actually, I was kinda impressed with how much work the image took. On average, though, Something Awful seems to have much more impressive photoshop threads. Maybe it's just because they only show the best ones to non-members.

What a waste of talent. These photoshoppers should be doing something more worthwhile, like altering history or improving our economy.

Could someone point me to other sites that have examples of such cool tricks? I'm a Photoshop lamer but still fascinated by what you can do with it.

I hate to niggle, but this really bugs me. A "meme" is not just a "link". Please stop using words that you don't understand.

I dunno, majcher, funny cat doctor Chris has been here, on fark, on Jarrett's site, and he might well spread from there. His likeness has been abused by lots of Farkers, who probably put him on their blogs, too. Maybe he's a baby meme, or a weak meme, but there's no denying he's getting around. Maybe I'll put him in my novel just to prove you wrong.

Either way, there was no good reason to piss on this good-natured and entertaining thread. If it bugs you so much, why not at least link to a majcher-approved definition of meme so we can avoid your wrath in the future?

Woo! I've been proven wrong again! I love it when that happens. Guess I need to start paying more attention to Fark... mmmm, nah.

Sorry, I didn't mean to "piss" on the thread. Just taking the opportunity to knee-jerk at something that's been bugging me for a long time. Wrong place to do it, I guess.
