Cake or Death? The spectacularly funny British comic Eddie Izzard, currently on Broadway in A Day In The Death of Joe Egg has revamped his web site (warning: irritating flash animation & audio), and annouced that he is coming on tour, starting Down Under and continuing throughout Canada & The U.S. For those NY mefites, check out Joe Egg while you can, it is depressing but simultaneously funny, and anyone who hasn't seen Eddie either live or on HBO, do yourself a favor and catch a show, it's good stuff.

Woo! New U.S. tour! Best news I've heard all day! (I'm supposing this means the DVD for Circle is finally being released here, as well.)

And dammit, again he fails to come anywhere close to me. I'm exceedingly jealous of anyone that gets to go see him live. You're all a bunch of bastards.

Yes, but have you got a flag?

Note to Eddie: Some of us below the Mason-Dixon line do have a touch of class.

I'll be catching him in Philly once they announce the venue. It'll be more fun than putting babies on spikes!

This is pretty much just for Ufez:

(Although, I think my friend here speaks well to the frustrations of all the Eddie-less.)

Eddie reprising his entire act in French is one of the funniest things I've ever seen ... next to a butch Eddie as henchman No. 4 in the Avengers movie.

Splashy splashy, Cyrano.

And if you've not seen him in Joe Egg.... well.... you should.

Go now.

I always wanted to be in a band called Marzipan Badger, but that's neither here nor there.

Cyrano: he makes reference to a Texas show in Dress To Kill.

Anyone know where that link to the Engelbert Humptyback clip is from Dress to Kill? I downloaded it once and never found it again....

Aw yeah, he hits Washington in late October! I'm gonna be the first one in line (online?) tomorrow morning when the tickets go on sale! Thank you, jonson!

Argh, like the rest my Southern friends, I will also remain Izzard-less. Eddie's all a girl could ever want in a man: great sense of humor, thriving career, and the ability to share a wardrobe and make-up on a whim.

Jumps on her scooter. Ciao.

Best news ever! I'm a huge fan of Eddie and am so excited, seems like I've been waiting forever for this. Ahh, getting all choked up! Somebody perform my maneuver on me... the me maneuver... Hilda!

This is quite exciting. I've been wanting to see Eddie live for quite some time. In fact, I've been wanting to meet Eddie live for some time. I think I'd invite him to have a cup of coffee.

My 11-year old daughter, as far back as three years ago, could recite almost verbatim the whole "Cake Or Death" routine. Izzard rulz.

davidmsc: You let your eight-year old daughter watch/listen to Eddie Izzard?!? You are one cool parent!

You're right up there with my folks, who introduced me to Tom Lehrer when I was five and George Carlin when I was about ten.

Thank you so much for posting this! I didn't know the tickets were going on sale today. Thanks to you, I was able to get front row center tickets for the Cleveland show. Did you get tickets lotsofno?

Front row, baby! I'm in the front row for the first DC show!

I just kept hitting refresh until Ticketmaster opened the sales on this thing. And I took the best seats in the house, so that no one else could have them. I am an evil herbivore.

w00t! Front row in Boston. Thanks for this thread, jonson!
