Beer run

Black Table Beer Run Ever wondered which beer is like a well-hung hunchback? This is the place for you. It's also racist, sexist, homophobic and overall very PinC (especially the sequel), so be forewarned.

Great fun, Joaquim - thanks! It was a little biased towards American brands and forgot about good old British bitter - to my mind the best beer in the world. Boddingtons in a can is a bit gorgeous, for instance.

I liked the way the Sapporo review linked to their interesting WTC reconstruction page.

That site is hilarious and utterly offensive to...everyone and their sled dogs. Great find.

Their rating of czechvar is way off. that's a very fine beer.

Yuengling is also a fine beer.

What's missing is the 'Beer with a Blog' from the Land of Pleasant Living National Bohemian

Czechvar is better known as Budvar or Budweiser, and has fought with Anheuser-Busch for nearly 100 years for the rights to the name.
It seems as though the AB (Anheuser-Busch) company would be very happy if the town Ceske Budejovice, or "Budweis" in German, along with its 700-year history of brewing beer would simply disappear from the world map.
And you're right, cell divide, it's damn good beer.

Great reviews!

I'd love to see a comprehensive overview of the shoved-in-the-subway quality of Korean brewed beverages like the unforgetttable Hite or the swimmingly chlorinated O.B. lager. Spiffy!

The WTC page reminded me that quite possibly the best design idea I've seen for the new WTC is this one.

thanks joaquim, that made me squirt fat tire ale out of my nose and all over my keyboard.
(there is some good stuff on the rest of the site as well).

There is a beer called Hatuey? Hatuey! Hatuey! Bless you.

Sorry, I've been drinking $2 24-oz. Coronas all night and the cheap drunkenness is overtaking me...

This is priceless:

Budweiser Tallboy
Rating: Freedom

Also, the description for HG800 had me rolling. The author did, however, forget to review the king of all Ghetto Brews: Lazer.

They shouldn't be dissin' the Czechvar/Budvar. That's beer that's inspired me to carry six-packs of it on transatlantic flights.

I like good British bitter, especially when it's cask-conditioned. (Firkin? Fuller's London Pride? Mmmmm...) Don't think it travels too well, though.

Fuckin hilarious.

Sadly, I've drunk almost all those beers. In retrospect, I have to ask: what the hell was wrong with me? Beer is a liquid made from like wheat and shit. Do I boil my lawn when I'm in the mood for a fresh beverage? Hardly.

They make a Sam Adams Light? How dare they!

If they make a Henry Weinhardt's Light too, I'm gonna have to go right on down there to the States and start kickin' some asses myself. If it wasn't for Messrs Adams and Weinhardt, you'd all be thinkin' Coors Light deserved the sacred name of "beer".

Philistines.

What, no Mickey's? We passed a 40 around at my Capitol Hill Memorial Day picnic, you know, keepin' it real in South East, yo. We were every bit as cool as the people on the Mickey's site.

What about the cheap chinese Tsintaou... Communisim doesn't taste all *that* bad... ITs actually rather bland... What were we so afraid of?

I had tears in my eyes reading this. Michael Jackson (the beer reviewing one, not the gloved one) eat your heart out!

I was glad to see Fosters get the rating it greatly deserved. This is not a beer Australians drink. It's a beer Australians export, and that's a very important distinction.

Boozehounds on a budget may be interested in reading this article on the beers of choice for homeless schizophrenics and would-be gangstas alike.

Strange but true, I don't ever recall having seen Fosters on tap in a pub, or an ad on TV, or a billboard advertising the stuff.
