Warning: Photoshop Contest Ahead

Dangerous Road Signs. Okay, so, I'm posting a link to a photoshop contest: I'm lame, that's a long established fact. That said, some of these really did amuse me - take a gander if you're up for a laugh.

Some of these are very funny indeed, and thanks for the link, jonson, but note this on the site:
We just received a notice from our ISP, Interland.com, letting us know that we far exceeded our bandwidth allotment in May by 1,363 gigabytes (about $4,000)
So if the site's going to be Mefi'd, perhaps visitors can throw a dollar or two into the pot?

They really shouldn't be hosting all those images themselves, they should make the submitters host them like fark does, or charge a small fee for hosting.

I just like to pre-empt the "how lame: a photoshop contest, what are we, FARK? I remember how good this place used to be back in the day... blah blah..."

What is this, Fark? Man, I remember how good this place used to be...

But this thread is redeemed by the comedic value of stbalbach inlining an image from another server (that he or she presumably does not own), providing a hefty shot of good-times irony when considering the first comment in this very thread.

how do you know stbalbach doesn't own thestudentzone.com? Maybe the st in stbalbach stands for STudentzone Balbach. It's an unusual name, sure, but so is wonderchicken, and we've gotten past that.

Yeah, but what the hell kind of middle name is "the"? Do you tell people when you meeet them, "It's S. The Wonderchicken, but my friends call me 'The'"?[*]

And would that be pronounced "thuh" or "thee", The?

ob-on-topic: "Wear clean underwear." Heh. Also, Something Awful did a wonderful traffic sign roundup awhile back.

[*] I kid because Miguel loves. Or something like that.

From Plenaria to Hammertime, the Something Awful sign contest was hands-down funnier.

Only difference really seemed to be greater use of the adjective "fucking", which, while I appreciate the use of said word for emphatic or comedic purposes, began to feel a bit like reading posts from people! who use exclamation points! with abandon!! whee!!!

both were fun though. I like "stoptional".

I went through the Something Awful bunch, and I found the general level inferior. Not just because they rely too much on the word "fucking," but most of the jokes are just rants about bad drivers typed (not to say crammed) onto signs. The worth1000 crop relied more on visual, you know, sign-based humor. "8-ball Crossing" and "Pots" are great visual gags.
