I wonder if he'll abandon his blog and apologize for it when blogs are no longer 'cool.'

Hey, it's pretty amusing, though I wonder why he'd waste golden comedy nuggets on a blog. Perhaps since his current show is weekly and he's used to writing bits for a daily show?

And why is the url "safesearching.com"? What on earth does that have to do with celeb sites?

Slightly better than Jay Leno's opening monlogues.

UDAY'S DEAD: Sure you’re happy now Baghdad. But don’t come crying at next year’s Summer Olympics when the soccer team just seems to be phoning it in.

Biggest laugh I've had all week.

I actually like it, it kind of points out in an inelegant (on the HTML/internet style side) way just how sorely missed humor is from weblogs. It seems like all the funny and original weblogs (benicetobears.com, misterpants.com are two examples) are gone and left is shrieking valkries of politics. Not that Maher even all that funny, but the fact that his jokes are at least mildly amusing throws the fact that so many of today's best written and coded websites are not funny at all.

Note that the site is managed by Safe Searching, a company started by Alyssa Milano's mom to protect celebrities' identities on the web (anti- fake porn, etc.) by providing "official sites." Their full roster.

Interesting that Bill feels the need to use them -- probably more out of convenience than a need to avoid fake celebrity porn, in his case.

awesome, i love how the safe searching roster site scrolls for me, that saves me all that energy that would have been wasted otherwise

Wow, and here I've been busting my hump, scrolling manualy like a SUCKER.

You must be running in the wrong circles. There's loads of funny sites out there. Just of the top of my favorites list, I give you: Skot and Kafkaesque. And, at least one and probably both of these people are MeFi members.

Please - fill us in. Where's the mis-used apostrophe?
posted by Nauip at 4:34 PM on July 31, 2003

The mis-used apostrophe is in the current most recent entry, to wit:

On the upside, while in the stirrups, doctor’s found two World Series rings and Dennis Rodman’s wristband.

He also misses other punctuation where it would do good, but hey. He's a comedian, not a writer.

Yeah, I was gonna mention Skot, too, and throw in Defective Yeti. But not Kaf. He's evil, that one, puuure evil.
