Solid Space - Old School Web

Solid Space is what I'd consider to be an old school website. A handful of weird things thrown up on a questionable background that truly takes flight with Awful Music and The Dark Side of Pez. And for the truly obsessed? A full list of View Master reels. Bonus!

Magnificent! I think I liked the Pez Defenders best, although Mr T versus the worlds tallest tree was pretty convincing. What it convinced me of, exactly, will take a little more working out.

The optigan pages are really interesting, I had no idea what an optigan even was.

Quitcher validation bitching.

Mark Linkous of Sparklehorse uses an Optigan on many of his recordings. It's a wonderful sound, the aural equivalent of scratched old home movies.

Wow! I want an Optigan. I'd never heard of it either. Followed through some links tho' - what a cool sound. There's one going on ebay for about 500 AU dollars...

Optigan.com is the definitive optigan website. Also discussed here.

This is a great Optigan track - from the "Optiganally Yours" album, more here.

I used to visit the Awful Music link regularly. Sad to see that it hasn't been updated in about 3 years.
