The Ad Slogan Hall of Fame catalogs 114 of the best advertising catchphrases ever created, often paired with a broadcast or print example. (Well, those created in England and North America, anyway.) Any of these recent inductees ring a bell?: "A little dab'll do ya." "Breakfast of champions." "Drivers wanted."

OK, hotshot, try these:
"Children's shoes have far to go."
"Reassuringly expensive."
"It is. Are you?"

Of course, now that I've given you the cheat sheet it shouldn't be too hard...

Ok, this is a truly meaning less block of text:

Judging criteria included individual opinions as to whether a line did or did not merit inclusion in The Advertising Slogan Hall of Fame.

circular...

What is the criteria for judging the "best" of any aspect of advertising? Market effectiveness? Pop-cultural salience? Esthetics?

Looks like "Nothing sucks like an Electrolux" didn't make it. Neither did some of my other personal faves: "What has a hazel nut in every bite?" - cue school children chanting "Squirrel Shit!" in unison. And an eighties (i.e. Essex boy) era billboard for a convertible hatchback - Ford I think - titled "Mean and roofless."

carter - nothing sucks was used a headline, not a tagline (slogan) and the other stuff you point to at that page like the Chevy No Va (No go?) is a myth as well.
