It's almost time for my yearly pilgrimage to the York Fair, America's oldest county fair. Unfortunately, it looks like I'll miss Poison, but as long as I get to see the fancy chickens I'll be happy.

Nice, Joan. I don't have the means to get to all the way up to York this year, but I'm going to the Maryland State Fair in Bawlmer this weekend. I have a hankering for corn dogs and some wild Petting Zoo action.

I went to the Arlington County Fair this past weekend. Corn dogs and funnel cakes in a decidely un-rural setting.

I went to Death Valley last weekend. I took pictures and ate food. I bought a hat. Later I will post pictures of my kitten and link to a silly quiz.

That's neat Janet, although I'm not sure how the Sufi dancing fits in.

y6, I apologize if this is a sucky post. I just wanted to share the fancy chickens. I do so love those chickens.

Ahem... brownpau, the Maryland State Fair is not held in Bawlmer, it is held in Timonium. That's Ti-meau-ni-um. Thank you. Continue on about your business.

If it's on the Light Rail, it's in Bawlmer, hon. Just like how it's in DC if it's on the Metro and it's in San Francisco if it's on the BART.

(I kid, I kid, of course. Yes, the State Fair is in Timonium, which, while technically within Baltimore Country, is most definitely not within Baltimore City's decaying urban borders. Hon.)

How I miss Lancaster county corn and tomatoes! York co has some good roadside farmer's stands too. I was planning to go to the Philly Folk Fest, but it's too hot in Pa. It's also kinda bad juju to leave Seattle when the sun is actuallly shining, today is a record 50 days above 70°. I'll wait till fall cools off the East [sorry Mom]. So insted I'll go to Bumbershoot!
